                           BIOMEDICAL INSTRUMENTATION
                       B.E.VIIth SEM(E.I.)
UNIT 1:-INTRODUCTION:-
The age of biomedical engineering, Development for biomedical instrumentation. Man instrumentation system components,Physiological system of the body,Problem encountered in measuring a living system.
TRANSDUCERS AND ELECTRODES:
The trasducer and trasduction principles,Active transducer and passive trasducer,Transducers forbiomedical application.Source of bioelectric potential; Resting and action potential,Propagation of active potential,The bioelectric potential ECG,EEG,EMG and invoked response.
ELECTRODES:
Electrodes theory,Biopotential electrodes,Micro electrode body,Surface electrodes,Needle electrodes,Biochemical trasducers,Reference electrodes, pH electrodes,Blood gas electrodes.
UNIT 2:-CARDIOVASCULAR MEASUREMENTS:-
Electrocardiography ECG amplifiers,Electrode and leads ,ECG records three channel vector cardiograph,ECG system for stress testing,Continuous ECG recording(holler recording), Blood pressure measurements, Blood flow measurement,Heart sound measurements.
PATIENT CARE & MONITORING:
Elements of intensive care monitoring, Patient monitoring, Patient monitoring displays,Diagonosis,Calibration & repair ability of patient monitoring equipment, Pacemaker & defibrillator.
UNIT3:-MEASUREMENT IN RESPIRATORY SYSTEM:
Physiology of respiratory system,Measurement of breathing,Mechanics spiro*meter , Therapy equipments,Inhalators ventilator & respirators, Humidifies *nebulizers*& aspirators
Unit 4:-DIAGNOISTIC TECHNIQUES:-
Ultrasonic diagnosis Eco-cardiography,Eco-encephalography,Ophthalmic scans,X-ray and radio-isotope instrumentation,CAT scan,Emission computerized tomography,MRI.
UNIT 5:-BIOELEMENTARY:
The components of bioelementary for ECG measurement system implantable units,Telementary for ECG measurement during exercise for emergency patient monitoring,Other prosthetic device line,Hearing aid myoelectric arm,Special aspects-safety for medical equipments,Shock hazards from electrical equipments.

UNIT 1:-STATE SPACE ANALYSIS OF CONTROL SYTEM

UNIT2:=ANALYSIS OF DISCRETE TIME SYSTEMS
Introduction of discrete time systems,Sample and hold circuits,Representation by differential equations and its solution using z transform representation of discrete systems in state variable form and their solutions.

UNIT 3:-CONTROLLABILITY AND OBSERVABILITY
Controllability and observability,Concept of linear time Invariant systems,Design and state observes
and controllers.

UNIT 4:-OPTIMAL CONTROL
Introduction,Formation of optimal control,Control problems,Calculas of variations,Minimization of functions,Constrained optimization,Dynamic programming,Performance index ,optimality principle, Hamilton jacobian, Linear quadratic problems,ricath* equation & its solution of two point boundry value problems.

UNIT 5:-ADAPTIVE CONTROL

UNIT 3:-FOURIER TRASFORM OF DISCRETE TIME SIGNALS:-
Definitions & important properties,Use of signal processing,Sampling and continuous time signal to generate a sequence and as reconstruction from the generated sequence.
UNIT4:-THE Z TRANFORM:-
Defination and important properties,System functions of digital filters,Digital filters implementation from the system function,the Complex Z-plane and* of convergence,relationship between Z-transform and fourier transform,The inverse Z-transform and its evaluation by various techniques.
UNIT 5:-THE DISCRETE FOURIER TRANSFORM:-

UNIT 6:-IIR FILTER DESIGN:-
